Essay For the 9th Grade - Writing Tips
Essay For the 9th Grade - Writing TipsWriting an essay for the 9th grade is quite similar to writing an essay for any other grade. In fact, you can write for each grade with some minor changes. Here are some helpful tips for writing an essay for the 9th grade.Think about your topic, no matter what grade it is. It can be a general one, but you will need to think of your own topic and put some thought into it before you start writing. You can choose from topics such as the future of a child, giving back to society, community service or even how to help a person or organization improve. After you have chosen your topic, then it is time to discuss it with the class and get their input on it. Have them read your topic and give some comments and questions. You should then edit your essay as needed to make it fit into the exact format you have decided. The last thing you want is to write something that looks too much like your topic.Make sure you begin your essay as early as possible. Start with an introduction, then take the story and the question you are trying to answer in a one-sentence summary. Take that summary and turn it into a more in depth discussion. Include your point of view and at least five lines that give some background information on the topic. Don't leave out the importance of the topic, as you are more likely to forget it later. Many students will cut corners and skip this important part of the essay. Even if you get an A-, it will still be missing a lot of the background information that a student may have taken for granted. Remember, it is your essay after all and the more knowledge you bring to the table, the more credit you will get.As you work on your essay, remember to list out your sources. List down what is available in the essay and where to find more information. Remember, many students will quote sources and use them as a stepping stone to further argument. You don't want that to happen.Keep in mind that you are writing for the 9th grade. This means you should be able to find sources and bring up interesting ideas for discussion. You should also be able to research things well enough to present it in a way that is accurate.
